Psalm 146
Our ultimate assurance is not in any earthly political leader but in the resurrected Shepherd King. This reality affects how we process the world of politics. Because of Jesus, political matters are not insignificant; they’re just not ultimate. This truth also affects how we treat others whose opinions differ from us in regard to political platforms. “Love your neighbor as yourself” is not restricted to one’s political group. Psalm 146 is a hymn of praise celebrating God’s rule. It assures us that God is ultimate, our destiny is glory, and Christ’s reign will endure forever. Praise the Lord!
