Luke 1:68-79
The season of Advent helps us long for life ruled by peace instead of fear. Jesus was born not just to bring comfort but to end whatever we fear most. This is why the psalmist can say, “We will not fear, though the earth gives way.” It’s why one of Jesus’s common refrains is, “Fear not.” This message is on the Song of Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist. It was John’s mission to introduce the world to the Prince of Peace. Jesus’s coming was so significant, people had to be prepared for his arrival. That was John’s task.
