James 1:12-15
James lays out several truths he wants his listeners — marginalized Christians scattered throughout the Roman world — to understand about temptation in the face of trials. Truth be told, trials often intensify the temptations in our lives, enticing us to grow embittered, despairing, and even outright sin. This is something many of us are facing given the political, economic, and social climate of our day. Thankfully, James does not leave us without a word of hope. He reminds us that our patient endurance is worth it because God will reward those who love him and also act as the perfect judge.
