Jonah 1:7-17

Can you think of a time when you had the opportunity to represent Christ and you did so with poise and composure? People were attracted to the Lord because of you? Well, Jonah had that very opportunity on a boat in a storm with an unbelieving crew of sailors—he didn’t fare so well. In fact, we see that the sailors made every effort to save Jonah. They tried to row back to shore; they tried prayer. You could argue that the sailors, who had limited knowledge of God, acted more like a believer than Jonah, the prophet of God! Ponder these: Is there consistency in our spiritual walk? Between our words and our work? Between we say and what we do?
