MISSION PARTNERS

We are grateful to partner with many individuals and organizations, both locally and around the world. Our missionaries are long-term partners we support financially on a quarterly basis. Other partners include individuals and organizations who we support in diverse ways including financial support, food pantry, Bibles, and volunteers on an as-needed or short-term basis. For specific information on who we support as a church, select each below.

WAYS TO SERVE

We want to share God’s love with others within WRCC and out in our community. Volunteering is one of the best ways to connect with others and make a real impact toward our vision of becoming a life-changing community, passionately pursuing Christ. Coming Up in Outreach

Helping Without Hurting

1st Sundays, Feb-Jun | 10:45am-12pm
Room 205 | Led by: Michelle Santiago

Rather than simply defining poverty as a lack of material things, we need to get to the very root of the issue: broken relationships with God, self, others, and the rest of creation. What does that mean for a short-term mission trip to a low-income community? This 5-week video-based training from The Chalmers Center aims to help God’s people rethink poverty and respond with practical biblical principles that lead to lasting and mutual engagement without causing long-term harm to materially poor communities. One Winter Night Fundraiser

Friday, Feb 6th | 6pm-6am | WRCC

CU at Home’s One Winter Night Fundraiser is an annual event that provides a powerful opportunity to learn about homelessness and raise awareness to both the needs and resources available to this population in Champaign-Urbana. WRCC will be a participating site for individuals and families to either camp outside or sleep in a vehicle on our church property. We’ll also have opportunities to pray together, learn more about homelessness, and hear testimonies. This is a family-friendly event, with lots of flexibility to adapt to your individual or group needs.

Schedule for the evening (participation in any or all of these segments is welcomed)

  • 6 to 7pm – Set up for dwelling area and evening program
  • 7 to 9pm – Homelessness Education & Engagement Program
  • 9 to midnight – Devotions, Reflection, & Fellowship
  • Midnight to 6am – Dwelling in a tent or vehicle

Sunday, April 27th | The Foyer

Our missions teams will be selling a take-out lunch after both services. The funds raised will support our 2025 mission trip and the ministry where they’ll serve. So, cancel your restaurant plans and enjoy a prepared meal with family and friends at home.

The menu will be announced in April.
